MINEHEAD

 

Minehead has long been known as "The gateway to Exmoor" - it's a beautiful place to explore at any time of the year!

 

With a range of things to do for all ages, Minehead is a fantastic seaside destination.

 

There are beaches to explore, a fishing quarter and an historic harbour.

 

There’s a 14th Century church on the hill and the much-photographed historic Church Steps.

 

Take a walk down the tree-lined Avenue and visit the selection of tea rooms, pubs and independent shops, you will find local crafts and unique presents in small local shops and enjoy leisurely shopping as it used to be in times gone by.

 

Sit and watch the world go by in the flower-filled Blenheim Gardens or on the seafront.

 

Or you may like to step back in time and take a trip on a Steam train

 

Minehead is home to the West Somerset Railway.

 

It’s England’s longest heritage line, running 20 miles between Minehead and the village of Bishops Lydeard near Taunton.

 

The trip takes you through some of the area’s most beautiful countryside with stops at stations including Blue Anchor, Williton and Crowcombe at the foot of the Quantock Hills.
