Stirling Highland Hotel

 

Set within the beautiful, historic city of Sterling, The Sterling Highland Hotel is a charming Victorian building and fascinating observatory which perfectly reflects the rich heritage of the area, known as the gateway to the Highlands.  Originally built as a school in 1854, the hotel lies within easy reach of both Glasgow and Edinburgh, and provides the perfect base for exploring the city of Stirling. 

There is a lift to 1st and 3rd floor only.

Highland Safari Experience

 

Experience stimulating natural wilderness hill tracks, forests, mountains and moors as you hold on tight and grip the wheel for a unique 4x4 adventure with Highland Safaris!

Stirling Castle

 

Imposingly sitting atop the extinct volcano 'Castle Hill', towering over important battlefields of victorious William Wallace and Robert the Bruce, 8th century symbolic icon, palace and fortress, Stirling Castle is the crowning site of Mary Queen of Scots.

 

Crucial to wars independence and favourite royal residence of the Stuart monarchs, Stirling's lavishly embellished Renaissance design will simply take your breath away with highlights such as Scotland's largest medieval banqueting hall, the impressive Great Hall, the elaborately redecorated Chapel Royal and the Queen's Inner Hall.

 

 

Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway Journey

 

Rumbling movie-set romantic nostalgia, sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear all await as you journey 10 miles aboard golden age Bo'ness and Kinneil steam railway, along the scenic Forth Estuary, through woodlands, past waterfalls and over the Avon Viaduct.

 

Take time to explore the museaum of national importance and Scotland's largest to see the last , remaining "Glasgow Blue Train", historic locomotives, carriages and wagons, models, displays and learn of the history of building, operating and using railways in Scotland.

 

 

Loch Katrine Experience

 

Take a memorable journey around beautiful Loch Katrine, steeped in unique engineering history, aboard either the 'Lady of the Lake' or 'Rob Roy III' from Trossachs pier.  Admire the sheltered ruggedness and wild landscapes of the loch, famed for providing fresh water to the city of Glasgow and once closely tied to Queen Victoria.

 

Please note the Steamship Sir Walter Scott isn't sailing this season as she requires boiler repairs.
