The town is an ancient one, the 'new quay' from which it takes it's name dates back to the fifteenth century, when it was known as 'Towan Blystraa'.

 

Aswell as being Britain's surfing capital it offers wonderful cliff and beach walks, picturesque harbour and a variety of activities including shark fishing and we would all love to see the photos.

 

There is a good variety of both high street and local shops, with interesting alleyways housing little craft and antique shops and a selection of inviting tea shops and cafes for a refreshing break.

New for our brochure the Eliot Hotels is only a few yards from the seafront and within walking distance of the shops and harbour.  Situated close to the Great Western and Tolcarne beaches.  The lounges provide a great place to relax after a busy day exploring.

 

All 77 en-suite bedrooms have tea, coffee making facilities, hair dryer and freeview television with radio channels.

 

The lift serves most rooms although all floors are split level with some intermediate steps.
