"A Book lovers dream"

Hay on Wye lies on the Welsh side of the Welsh/English Border in the County of POWYS, Wales.

Hay-on-Wye is a market town in Powys, Wales, known for its rich history. The name "Hay" derives from the Norman term meaning a "fenced enclosure," while the Welsh name

"Y Gelli" translates to "Grove". Historically, it is an ancient border town located on the banks of the River Wye, once enclosed by a triangular wall with three gateways.

Significant historical events include the construction of a motte and bailey castle by Bernard Newmarch around 1100, following the Norman invasion.

Today, Hay-on-Wye is famous for its literary festival and numerous bookstores, earning it the title of "the town of books.".
