Porthcawl a seaside town developed as a coal port in the 19th century.  Trade declined and in line with many coastal resorts in the Victorian era the town developed into a tourist hot spot.

A new promenade was built in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, and then a Grand Pavilion followed in 1932, positioned on the promenade and is still used today. It seats 635 people and still a very popular venue for various events and wonderful shows.

 

Porthcawl offers beautiful beaches and shoreline with lots of natural beauty to take in, an ideal spot to just sit and ponder for a while.

 

A seaside resort which keeps on giving , you can find something for everyone, Town , Beaches , Amusements, Live Shows, just to name a few...

and its right on our doorstep.

Nature lovers will appreciate the proximity to Coney Beach, which is nearly a 15-minute walk away. Newton Beach is around a 25-minute stroll from Seabank Hotel.

Porthcawl's most prominent building is situated on a headland, a short walk from the Grand Pavilion and John Street shops.
