Teignmouth and Dawlish

 

Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food.

 

The town sits on the edge of the mouth of the river Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting.

 

Teignmouth beaches are great for family days out,  Teignmouth Town beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade.

 

Local watersports are also on offer if you want to try kayaking, coasteering or paddle boarding. 

 

Teignmouth River Beach is full of beautiful fishing boats and has a wonderful quaint village feel – perfect for coastal walks.

 

The town itself has beautiful Georgian buildings and a lovely high street for a bit of retail therapy.

 

On the promenade, Teignmouth Pavilions hosts a regular cinema and child friendly events all year round. 

 

Teignmouth Arts Quarter is full of galleries, TAAG, Voyage Art, Reuben Lenkiewicz Art Gallery which sells and displays Robert Lenkiewicz‘a work.

 

 There are also the cafes, back beach and other stylish individual businesses.

 

 

Dawlish is a traditional seaside town, with a wonderful golden sand beach on its doorstep.

 

The town offers a range of amusements and is centred around The Lawn and Brook, which is home to the famous black swans.

The brook is home to a range of birds as well as the famous black swans which can be found swimming sedately along the river, the swans have been residents in Dawlish since at least the early 1900s. 

 

 

Dawlish Town Beach is just a short walk from the town centre, full of golden sand perfect for families and days on the beach. 

 

The town has plenty of interesting shops and a brook that runs through the centre of a wide open green, The Lawn, which is great for games and picnics.
