The town is an ancient one, the 'new quay' from which it takes it's name dates back to the fifteenth century, when it was known as 'Towan Blystraa'.

Aswell as being Britain's surfing capital it offers wonderful cliff and beach walks, picturesque harbour and a variety of activities including shark fishing which we would all love to see the photos.

There is a good variety of both high street and local shops, with interesting alleyways housing little craft and antique shops and a selection of inviting tea shops and cafes for a refreshing break.

Introducing the Kilbirnie Hotyel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean,  originally built in the late 1930's as one of the first hotels on Narrowcliff in Newquay.

Origingllly a small family run business, it has seen several transformations over the years and has changed owners and styles in keeping with the times.

Today it offers a bright contemporary style while making the most of the stunning views right on the doorstep.  It includes a heated indoor swimming pool, an outdoor splash pool, sauna, fulluy equipped fitness suite and a secluded sun terrace.

 

All en-suite bedrooms have Freeview TV aswell as tea and coffee making facilities.

There are a wide variety of local and international beers, wines and spirits available at the bar to suit all tastes.
