Swanage Day Tour

Swanage Day Tour

Day Trip : Swanage

SWANAGE

With such a diverse array of things to do in Swanage, there is somthing to suit everyone at any time of year.

From it's bustling bay to it's inviting backstreets and stunning surrounding areas, Swanage is the perfect place to wile away the hours and explore

Being on the south coast of Britain, the weather in Swanage tends to be favourably mild, with few frosts and little snow in the winter.

During the summer months, the area draws many thousands of visitors for its traditional British seaside feel, and there are numerous festivals, events and fun things to do throughout the year, making Swanage a year-round destination.

If you’re a foodie, music fan, or arts and crafts enthusiast, then Swanage is a fantastic place to visit.

A visit to Swanage isn’t complete without the time-honoured English tradition of beach-side fish & chips.

Top off your day at the seaside with one of these popular fish & chip shops and restaurants in town.

There are some great spots for an al-fresco fish & chips picnic in Swanage – the beach is the obvious choice, but lots of people also opt for the stone quay near Swanage Pier, or up on the grassy banks above the amphitheatre in Prince Albert Gardens.

As well as all the usuals like cod, haddock, battered sausage and fish cakes, look out for the local catch of the day; old school favourites like pineapple fritters and mushy peas; and various ‘posh’ options such as mussels, tuna steak and dressed crab.

Britain’s favourite seaside takeaway meal is extremely popular in Swanage, so be prepared for slight queues outside the most popular establishments at peak times.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere special for a lazy brunch, or a quick, hearty bite to fuel a day exploring , Swanage has a great range of restaurants, cafés, pubs and takeaways.

For a quick and budget lunch option, grab a made-to-order sandwich from one of the bakeries or delis, or to sample some of Dorset’s finest local produce served in style, try one of the gastropubs along the high street.
